Yesterday was my birthday and a year ago my wife and I had our wedding. Instead of waking up yesterday feeling homesick for the arms that don’t want to hold me… I looked at this redirection as an upgrade. My best friends turned this bittersweet day around and helped me take back my birthday through creating new memories. From lunch at Via Corata, to shopping, tarot readings and cupcakes at Magnolia. It was the perfect day. My comeback from this heartache is personal, and just maybe, I’m slowly becoming the person I was supposed to be a long time ago? I know I don’t see this now, but I trust that this heartbreak saved my life. It’s a lesson and a blessing. I’m going to make a beautiful life for myself this year no matter what it takes, and excited to get to know the woman I’m becoming.
